Map Mashup: Cetus vs Greenland & Baffin Island

🌍 Cetus Minor: The Constellation Reimagined on Baffin Island &
Greenland
This is part of an art project I've been working on — one that explores
the idea of mapping mythology onto real-world geography. In this piece, I’ve taken the star map of the
constellation Cetus, and overlaid it over two of Earth’s most remote and mysterious places: Baffin Island and
Greenland.
The head of Cetus — a powerful and ancient symbol in Greek mythology —
is positioned on top of Baffin Island, where the land meets the sea, echoing the constellation's regal presence.
Baffin Island’s vast icy expanse and deep connections to Indigenous cultures make it an ideal canvas for this
celestial transformation.
The body of Cetus flows across Greenland, a place that feels both
ancient and untouched, much like the legend of the sea monster itself. Here, the constellation becomes more than
just a pattern in the sky — it’s a living symbol, merging myth with the physical world.
